Bright, crisp, dertling little species of finch. Drawn to feeders of all kinds and prefers nyjer or sunflower seeds. They are exclusively vegetarian. If it sounds like someone is saying "potato chip" very quietly and with solemn deliberation it is most likely a Goldfinch call. They can be spotted all year long in most backyards from Gregory all the way to 85th street. They will use native thistle and milkweed for nest building and to feed their starvlings. Deft balancers.
